1967 NORRA Mexican 1000 -- Tijuana Bullring

On October 31, 1967, a total of 68 vehicles of all shapes and descriptions gathered in the Tijuana bullring for the first professional long distance off-road race ever run – the inaugural #NORRA Mexican 1000. It was a primitive approach to the unknown and one entry stood out as the most naïve of them all, the #10 1959 Triumph TR-3 sports car to be driven by newbies Bob Hagin and Floyd Fessler.

The race began at the Tijuana bullring, but restarted the next day at Ensenada... and ended in La Paz where the caption under the photo seems to say... "another racer comes into town" and the car is obviously damaged.

Do you have a photo at the Tijuana bullring of the start of the race there?
