Raquel and Larry in Bay of LA?
Does anybody have a review of Raquel and Larry hotel? We have not been to Bay of L A for six months and we are wondering how it is holding up with the
kids running it. We do miss both of them.
I have always wondered why more nomads don't stay there?

Yes, I know the place well, it is our go to place when using a hotel in Bay of L A. I was wondering how the kids are running the place. I am looking
for something recent.
We often stay there at the end of a trip on the pacific side. I am leaving today but don't plan on stopping by this time. I recommended to a friend
and thought a update would be good.

Agree... so you also check Mia's forum (BahiaDeLosAngeles.info) and Baja Quest has an L.A. Bay forum. Nomad will still be your best chance for new
info, I think. My kids and I stayed there in 2002 with the Humphreville's (Camp Gecko was full), in the rental house closer to the beach. Eric and
Earle (old Amigos de Baja message board) were regular clients, and were there that same week.

Raquel and Larry's has been a traditional stop for our group
almost every Memorial day weekend where the fishing may not be that good but the weather is usually nice. Also we
go in the June/July time frame when it is hot for a shot at
the pelagics. Ausgust is just darn hot, sometimes we go for the Dorado
When possible we stay in one of the beach houses.
The hotel shows its age, but provides a basic clean but not fancy place to sleep. It is not near the center of town or
the launch ramps which may put some off.
The rooms sport window ac units. Some rooms have up to four beds. You can BBQ outside if you wish. They do have a restaurant that has good food
prepared by the cook Concha.
Right now Ruth manages the place and speaks very passable english. She is a good fun and helpful person to talk to. She is making improvements
on the aging infrastucture, which is tough in this slow economy.
The north end of town is quiet and gets a nice breeze in
the afternoon. Give it a try if only for a night.
