Camera Lost On The Trail

Nomads,

A friend asked me to forward this request:

"Hola Senoir: could you put a post on baja nomads for me, regarding a lost camera? Seems like a bit of a recurring theme for us kam- loop-i-sans, doesn’t it. I made the classic rookie mistake and forgot to zip my tankbag closed. We were riding north to south on the no whimps trail, on feb 26th.We stopped on the beach right at the rock corral and had lunch, and carried on south from there. I pulled over 10ish or so km south to chat with wayne, and that’s when I noticed my bag open and my well used Olympus tough(shiny stainless housing) camera and a leatherman in a pouch and a few blank micro sd cards were all free and clear of the tankbag. We were running late, so a backtrack and search was not in the cards. It would be nice to get the sd card from the camera back with our 1st few days of photos, the rest of it, could just be considered a reward, for anyone that finds it.

Thks Reid"

The No Wimps Trail is a route that goes south out of El Barril south to San Ignacio.... TW drove it with a friend a month or so ago.....

Thanks for any help....

Oh no... Only 10 kms. to back track when you are 2000+ miles from home, seems like a no brainer... I am sorry he lost it, in a very remote place. Maybe contact Tim Morton or other off road motorcycle groups to keep an eye out!??

Is the corral by the beach where he stopped Los Corrales, just north of the state border?

From Tim's calendar he left yesterday on a 7 day ride. He may be riding the route. Give him a call. His wife Jennifer can probably get a hold of him and let him know. He carries an ipad type phone.
