propane refrigerator service in San Feliep

Our 5 year old Dometic RGE 400W refrigerator is not working, it will cool the freezer enough to make ice but will not cool the refrigerator . Anyone have ideas to self help or know of a repair person in the San Felipe area? Thanks

If you are running it on propane now, try running it on 120 volt. If it works fine on 120 volt then the problem is isolated to the gas burner or gas supply pressure. Most RV refer cooling problems are on the propane side of things. A dirty gas orifice or gas pressure problems being the most common. I have found an oily substance in my system which caused many problems. I ended up replacing the gas regulator and cleaning the burner orifice. Also check to make sure the refrigerator is level and out of the sun. Hope this helps

I had a similar problem with our Dometic (formerly Servel.) I was able to reach a service tech who instructed me to do the following: first-make sure the frig is perfectly level. If not level, level it, turn off and restart in an hour. If it is level do the following: turn off the frig. Tip it over on it's front. Leave for 30 minutes. Than rotate clockwise leaving it for 30 minutes in each new position. After going thru the rotation turn it completely upside down for 12 hours. At the end of 12 hours set back up and restart. Make sure it is completely level- it is imperative that it is level. This worked for me.

Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.
