Cactus Wren fledgling

Boe4fun and I were talking and this little guy interrupted us with his scolding. He could fly a few feet at a time, and wound-up on my firewood pile where he posed.

I have to say they are my least favorite bird in Mexico. Nest robbers, for one. Complete bullies around the sparrows.

And that horrible call in the early AM........or any time! Nothing more un-musical than the cry of the cactus wren.

That's about as "cute" as he's gonna get, IMB.

Nice shot, though.

I'll take you off the list when I advertise my place in Mt. Shasta for sale...15 Blue Jays going off many many times a day probably wouldn't suit you!!!:lol:

Thanks Russ, same old trusty rusty Canon S500!

Watch that Cactus Wren in Bahia Asuncion if you have tomatoes! They loved our tomatoes in Bahia Asuncion and I loved hearing them yak back and forth about them.

Hey guys, here they are!

They taste great!

Even moved to a new location, the tomato is to be savored.

Loving new experiences, and still loving the memories of our home on the beach. Enjoy that baby wren!

On edit --- Perry, I am sure you know that they were able to release the young hawk and it flew just fine. I guess it was quite a moment for them.

Others would say - they just have a personality.

They really do seem to be more intelligent than the other birds. A sparrow just ... chirps.

One of my favorite birds to hear over coffee in the morning.

As, from a Louisiana swamp. I like it.
