LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Ric Miller, a noted sports marketing executive, has gone full circle in his career, returning to his professional roots at SCORE International, it was announced today.

SCORE CEO/President Sal Fish announced that Miller is returning to SCORE in the new-created position of Director of Event Operations, effective immediately.

Miller, of Anaheim Hills, Calif., started his career as the Director of Operations and Race Steward for eight years (1976-84) with SCORE International, the world?s foremost desert racing organization and sanctioning body.

?Ric Miller is a great organizer, a superb detail person who doesn?t miss many dotted i?s or crossed t?s,? said Fish, who has been with SCORE since soon after it was started in 1973. ?Ric has added significantly to his resume and expertise since his first stint with SCORE and we are really pleased to have this unique opportunity to bring back such a talented individual to help us expand into the challenges of the 21st century and beyond. Because of his past experience with SCORE, Ric can step right in and be at full speed because he already knows our sport so well.?

Miller brings more than 26 years of major event development, production and promotional management experience to SCORE. He has extensive experience in the development, promotion and production of high-energy motorsport, concert and family entertainment events designed specifically for the desert, stadiums and arenas.

?This is truly a wonderful opportunity for me to work with SCORE again,? said Miller. ?Not many people get the privilege of returning to their roots carrying the benefits of the additional experience gained in their careers. The learning curve will be minimal returning back to the desert and a sport that I enjoy so much.?

Miller has produced events in the United States, Mexico, Japan and England.

Previously, Miller?s career path has included management positions with the Mickey Thompson Entertainment Group (1984-1995), United Sports Entertainment (1996-1997), Beachport Entertainment (1998) and MS Intergate (1999-2004).

In his most recent position, Miller was the Executive Vice President and Chief Operation Officer of MSI, a technology based internet solutions provider for the entertainment industry.

Miller has developed and successfully produced a multi-site motorsports series (Mickey Thompson?s Stadium Off-Road Series) as well as assisted with future project development, strategic partnerships and vendor negotiations.

At SCORE, his initial energies will be focused on the 11th Annual SCORE Laughlin Desert Challenge (Jan. 13-16, 2005) in Laughlin, Nev., and the SCORE Las Vegas Terrible?s Cup I (July 28-30, 2005) at The Dirt Track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

?Both of these events provide unique challenges as well as opportunities that are well suited to Ric?s background,? added Fish. ?On a daily basis, he will also help SCORE expand its technological capabilities, something we have seriously needed.?

I sure hope he doesn't try to take away our view from the hill at Laughlin.
