mulege report

When I pulled into the area last friday it was blowin good and threatining to rain so I decided against punta chivato and rolled over to playa los naranjos and rented a cabana for three weeks. It's just a short run out to punta conception. The water is 68 and visibilty is around 40'. Leopard grouper and snappers have been my target. Also lots of nice chocolate clams and c-ckels right out in front of naranjos. People come by the camp selling jumbo shrimp right off the boats so I am not going hungry. You need to get out early as the winds soon chase you back towards shore. Nothing but sunshine and warm weather perdicted all the way to sunday, could get over 80!!! fishin rich

hey fishhinrich,

many thanx for the tip w/ the jumbo?s.
We stood @ Campos Naranjos last Saturday > now living in oasis next to Jungle Jims.
Which palapa are you living in??
Or in one of the bungalows ?
we lived in "blue"
Maybe we comer and see you > if you like.
We do know a lot of nice people already, espaciallemente in SantasPac and of course all around Jungle Jims.
Fish is bought right from the boat next to the lighthouse in Mulege> a nice white Bonito - 27/28 inch 20 pesos > no complaint about that !!
But shrimp and squid is rare as the Koreans catch all the squid and ship it towards Korea (those gangsters)
There is a huge squid plant in Santa Rosalia where they process it.
(That why it is so stinky in Santa Rosalia!)
Have agood one
