Wells Fargo or US Bank?
I live in a small town and only have these 2 banks for tenants to deposit rent into for me to draw on in Mexico, say Loreto or La Paz, what bank fees
will I incur and is it even possible to use either of these debit cards there in MX? Thanks!

I use wells fargo and it works fine here, probably US will too. Don't remember the charges, sorry.

Wells Fargo is horrible. I have an account with US Bank and have no problems with them at all.

I've been enduring "horrible" for 22-years.Wells Fargo is a strict bank. They do not like overdrafts.
Their non Wells Fargo transaction fee is $5.00 per.
Their online service customer assistance has my highest possible rating. The folks who answer my secure messages act FAST and with authority.
Someone found an old check of mine, how I do not know. They tried to clean out the account. Wells sent me an emergency email. I told them it was
fraudulent. They told the customer to "come back tomorrow". They did - into the waiting arms of the Police.

If you can, try with a local or community credit union........when you are nob you can actually talk to a real person, and they have better customer
service.

Wells Fargo is fine for me. Even with their $5 per ATM withdrawal fee and the local commission of 29 pesos I just got 12.19 pesos per $US using an
HSBC machine in Ensenada.

I have been facing the same problem...what to do??...$5 plus 29 pesos seem like a small charge to me. The alternative for me is to cross the boarder
get cash from Wells Fargo and come back down...don't like keeping a lot of cash on hand.

we left WF for Mission Fed Credit Union. couldn't be happier. we have a USBank Visa that is very competitive interest rate wise.

Before I eliminated some accounts (WF being one) Wells Fargo would waive the fee for us (minimum balance). Wouldn't hurt to ask.

We have US Bank. I see that on March 24th I used ATM at Los Pinos Pemex. $6000 pesos. $459.81. $2.50 ATM fee & $13.78 International transaction
fee.

This horse has been beat to death numerous times here. We also live in a small town and have given our tenants self addressed deposit slips to our
Charles Schwab account. We use our debit card for pesos at whatever ATM we happen to stumble across. For this service Charles charges us nothing,
nada, zip. I know people will come up with endless horror stories about how they could not access cash at some hoarhouse in TJ but for us, for 10+
years, it has worked perfectly.

Looks like the 3% international fee. Wells still just charges $5.00 , flat rate.

Even though WF charges a $5 fee, if you have accounts with them, and you email each time asking them to reverse the fee they will...at least they
have for me. I don't use the WF card often because I have a local bank account, but when I do, they reverse the charge.
