Bought An Unlocked AT&T Phone

I wish to have a telephone for calls the few times I am in the USA for medical appointments. I don't want a three hundred dollar a year plan for this...

Carlos Slime purchased my old USA based company and now it has service good for two months unless you feed it more money.

I use a cellular more in Mexico. So it's SlimeCell, with few other options. I can live with that.

But I need special phones to hear. So I chose the AT&T

Is it possible to get reasonable pre-paid service in the USA and on the same SIM chip have TelSlime service? One phone does all?

Or has this tuned into yet another ripoff industry?

What model phone?
If it's a smartphone you can download apps that will let you call with wifi from anywhere to the USA or Canada, if you have a Mexican sim and a data plan you would have Mexico cel service and be capable of calling and receiving for the USA.
They also sell on ebay unlocked dual sim phones under $100usd, I have one but don't know how it works yet.
I believe you can also do a prepay with tmobile for $100usd in credit for a year, I have a couple of phones and used to keep one dedicated to a USA sim, now just using magic jack, what's app is also great for worldwide texting on most smart phones.

We use t-mobile, prepaid and as long as you initially load $100, from then on you load as much or little as you want, once a year. It works really well since we go to the US only a few times a year, like you.

Your ATT should work simply with a "Go Phone" plan...Mine works in Mexico and the US. When you make a call it costs 3 bucks...BUT all the rest of the calls that day are free....Simple..No apps Whatever they are...no contract buy some minutes and jabber away....I was in the grocery store today and they were labeling stuff with "gluten free" tags..What is a gluten, and why would we want to free them?

T-Mobile has a cross agreement with MovieStar in Mexico. If you are in an area where they have coverage then one card works in both the US and Mexico.

If you have a iPhone, there are dual simm adapters that can be purchased on eBay. It is a ribbon cable that plugs into the simm slot and folds around to the back of the phone where it sits in a pocket in a special case. I have not used one but they say you just choose which companies card you want to use from the Setup menu.

When we travel to Europe, we put simm cards for each country we are in. Very convenient.
