Here's another test.

There was a popup ad that came up. Perhaps if you have your popups blocked the page itself won't come up.

You guys should check out imgur.com.
It is a lot more simple and user friendly than Photobucket

Whatever photo hosting site you do use, please be considerate to the Baja Nomad size of 800 pixels maximum when uploading from your PC to the host site. Anything bigger only stretches the hole page off the screen and makes reading text very difficult for those on standard size monitors.

On Photobucket, it is EASY!

There are many photo hosting sites, Photobucket.com is one used by many here, it is free for basic membership and very cheap for advanced.

1) Create an album for your trip or subject on Photobucket.

2) Click Upload (top center) to transfer photos from your PC folder to your Photobucket album.

3) Click on the gear symbol on the right corner of the box you see on the screen...

4) Select 800 (full size) or 640 (large size) for Nomad posting...

100x75 is the Avatar size, fyi.

5) Click SAVE!

6) Select photos you want to share on Nomad (or other forums) by pressing the Choose Photos & Videos button (or for the entire folder of photos, click Choose Folder).

Once done with uploading photos, make your post here on Baja Nomad and add photos using the IMG link from the choices of links for each photo in your album. Copy and paste that link in your Nomad thread, double spacing between links. Add a caption to the photo if desired... Click Preview Post to check your post... if okay, click Post Reply.

So, because you can't do a simple thing as requested by the host here and so easily explained how, you just blew up the page so the text and photos go off the screen.... Also, you have double tags because in addition to posting the IMG link, you are also using the auto IMG Nomad link, you don't need both. That is why the text for the tags shows before and after your oversize photo.

Oh I am sorry ...sir. Looked fine on my standard 17" laptop monitor and my smaller netbook. I will follow your instructions a little closer in the future.

Even on my tablet, the picture shows just fine. It does not look too big. It does not stretch the screen at all.

Guess no more photos...unless I forget. I use photobucket as intended...a backup for my photos. If I follow the picture police's instructions I will lose all the resolution that is normal in my backup. Wonder how many folks haven't figured this out yet.

No resolution harm at all Ralph... Nomad frame is 800 pixels wide... the biggest image to fit on Nomad is 800 pixels, it is width of the image NOT the quality or file size (like Nomad hosting only photos of less than 50 kbs.).

Just click on the gear symbol when you upload new photos for Nomad sharing, and change the standard 1,024 pixels to 800... Your photo on your PC is unchanged...

I get plenty of comments from folks who also use 15" monitors thanking me for my effort to help Nomads follow the request of Doug. He has tried to update this site, and when or if he does, your photos will AUTOMATICALLY be resized, if they are too big (as Baja Gringo's forum did and other, newer forums do). These auto resized images are usually 640 pixels, so even smaller than 800.

Photobucket reduces the resolution when you upload anyway (they warn you of this) so I guess it doesn't matter. Just beating a dead horse.

Pixels equate to resolution...so if I wanted to post some pictures of, lets say, some of the ladies from Raiders Reef they would not be as clear as if posted directly from my computer, regardless of how they fit on your screen.

I guarantee you would not notice a quality loss from your 1024 pixel photo above to an 800 pixel that won't distort the whole page here.
