Otay clogging

For a while, mid day Wednesday was the answer. I actually had one cross with ten cars ahead of me in the regular lane. Not so now. Make it 400 cars and the ready lane backed up to who knows where. So now, what is the new best time?

It's maybe a 3 day week-end - Flag Day - in the US so lots of people leaving early for the week-end?

Last Saturday, 1:30 pm we got into the line at Otay and it was just over 2 hours before crossing. No reason, other than lot's of cars and very slow processing at the border. The line was only about a half mile long and we moved so slowly, all border gates were open.

I use SY almost daily and they are still working on about 10 lanes, which means 20 booths, putting finishing touches on. I see they routinely don't man many of the booths, even during busy times. Not enough manpower to do that I guess.
