Go to any autozone in TJ and buy the recharge can. They will fill your AC while you wait. Tipped the chico after he was done. My autozone is in El Tigre Mariano.

i wouldn't do that...

if you're out of Freon there's a reason...probably a leak

you need a guy to put the leak-locater stuff in then
FIX the leak then
evacuate the system of air then
refill with Freon

it's a process

it wont last if you just fill...you are throwing away your money

Ditto (from personal experience). Don't know about TJ but most shops advertising A?C repair in San Diego just look for leaks in obvious visible places but mine was not visible and one the shops sent me to one of the few specialists (Eskimo A/C in El Cajon) that found several hidden leaks.

Hijole, or he could just be low.

I recharged the my truck 2 years ago at Autozone Tj and it's still blowing cold.

If you want a mechanic I like Victor 664-682-2179 for the land line. He's south of the airport, west of parke amistad, near the delagacion. He's good with my diesel truck.

Let me know. There's enough in the area to burn a few hours, gym. food - shopping.

99 % of the time leaks are caused by bad O rings at the connections. Depends on the vehicle and what your expectations are as to whether go to a A.C. PLACE AND GET RAPED FINANCIALLY OR ADD A CAN OF REFRIGANT EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE. I had a older pickup that i bought new in its later years i would top off the system at the beginning of summer with a can of freon it lasted the whole summer.
I now live in Baja and have a very competent air conditioning mechanic. I had him service the underdash air in a older M.H. that still cooled a little. He rebuilt the compressor and changed the O rings in every connection and pumped the system down and recharged the system with R134. 3years later it is still blowing ice cubes.
No i dont refere hin his work ethic gets hin all the work he can handle.

I assume you just made that number up?

For what it's worth, only time I've had a leak, it was the compressor seal. More likely, I'd guess, than static O-rings...

You know what they say about assuming. Usually when you have a seal failure at the compressor the system goes down rathed quickly. Where as a static leak can be almost impossible to detect. a occcasional can of freom beats the heck out of a trip to the shop.
