It also helps if I know which side of the river I should be on to start with!

Does that help?

I wonder sometimes why folks don't do some initial Googling before asking some questions

Its probably impossible to find the Mulege Oasis due to the constant flooding, best to look for the Oasis flag and dive down there.

if you are staying at the oasis
you must have reservations...there's no hotels there...people don't just walk up and get a room

ask the company that you rented from for a "location map"

that's what I would do

It just dawned on me, there's a sign right up on the highway that says, "OASIS... sumpthin-er-other''... and if that doesn't work, turn in at the one that says, "LA JUNGLA BAR". That is, unless you're planning on landing by chopper (then ask Dave K)
;)

just a couple weeks ago the locals were catching the hell out of the pargo and mangrove snapper out of the river up by the bridge...they usually fish at night with bait and a handline....my bride and i have done really really well with rapala type hard baits during the early morning hours for the same species plus a few nice snook....the fish are there!

Great place to stay at the Oasis: www.clementinesbaja.com. Cliff Taylor owns several homes which are dotted throughout the Oasis and are a great value. I have been staying there for years and really love it. BTW, the picture above does show the entrance to the Oasis from the highway (the sign is a bit newer but you get the idea); but once you go down into the area it looks completely different from the highway entrance.
