Ready Lane pass

I am looking an average time of processing for that pass.
Currently hold a passport book for entering NB and want to cut down on the line wait times with a ready lane card.

Thank you

Well you don't really get a pass... You need to get a passport card. So however long that takes to process. Luckily you can pay more to get it expedited : )

ROUTINE SERVICE As of (Tuesday July 8, 2014), we are processing routine applications in approximately 4-6 weeks from the time of application.
EXPEDITED SERVICE As of (Tuesday July 8, 2014), our expedited service commitment is to process your passport application within 8 business days from the time your application is received by a passport agency. This means you should receive your passport or denial letter within 3 weeks door-to-door.

I have seen this.....for applicants who have actually gone through the process, are these times about right?

Do some passport books have the electronic device attached as do the passport/SENTRI cards?

Yes, the newer passport books have an electronic chip

The SENTRI card and the passport/passport card use different chips and are not compatible with the the card readers in those dedicated lanes.

You can use the SENTRI card in the READY Lane but you CANNOT use the passport/passport card in the SENTRI lane.

This is how I got mine. The main objection I've heard is some don't like to send in the PP book with the application.

Make and keep a color copy of the first (information) page of your passport before you send it it with your passport card application

If applicable; you can go to the local passport agency (San Diego has one downtown) and get it in as little as three days. That's what I did for mine.

This is exactly my concern as I would be going back home to MX well before the ready lane card and or passport book is returned.

Now I would be faced with attempting a return north without either, when that times comes.

From prior readings here, it is possible to enter NB without a passport.

Yeah...no problem. Just keep all receipts and a copy of your passport and they'll wave you through.

keep in mind the ready lane comes with no guarantee, two weeks ago I made the mistake of hitting the SY ready lane during the morning rush hour. backed up all the way to the CFE plant and they closed the entries to the ready lane at both the nissan dealer and the constitution entrance. the regular lanes were HALF the length.
never hit em before 10AM!
