Importing a vehicle - ACV Logistics

I've contacted ACV Logistics regarding importing a vehicle into
Baja as new regulations here require anyone with Permanent Resident immigration status to drive Mexican registered vehicles. (see http://www.bajainsider.com/baja-business/importingregisterin...). I researched them online and they are properly licensed (US DOT) and insured in California. They are also listed with Dunn and Bradstreet. This prompts me to ask if any forum members have experience importing a vehicle with them..and if so, what was your experience? OR, has anyone used another company successfully...or unsuccessfully. Thanks in advance for your responses.

Never known anyone who used ACV Shippers to import a car.

Suggest you interview various other importers in the San Diego área and find a company you're confident of and that will give you a competitive price. These companies are in competition, can and do negotiate their rates with customers.

This is a bigger issue- Baja remains a free zone and some have erroneously concluded the mainland requirements for importation of vehicles applies here. There is a very long previous thread that discusses the issue in depth.

I've checked with the aduana, the man who helped me and wife with permanent resident status- who was a former immigration officer, and no one here confirms that importation is required in Baja.
