Baja Blue Fin
This just posted:
ATTENTION: The Sportfishing Association of California (SAC) has released the following:
Ladies and Gentlemen,
This afternoon the SAC legal office in Mexico City received verbal notice from CONAPESCA that recreational fishing for bluefin tuna can resume in
Mexican waters immediately.
SAC has been informed that the written notification should be available on Monday morning for dissemination to the public. We appreciate CONAPESCA and
their leadership for working hard to promote recreational fishing in Mexico.
SAC will continue to work with their associate members in Mexico to promote Mexico sportfishing and improved regional tourism.

Thanks for the great news. Now let`s hope they don`t shut it down here (So Cal) for recreational fishing as is being proposed.

This is great news! Bluefin have always been hit or miss here in Socal/Northern Baja with the last couple seasons showing a healthy population. The
recreational take is extremely minimal and with Mexico imposing a quota on the commercial take I'm satisfied the species will thrive.
I completely support real data from credible studies and NOT knee-jerk stuff from the the likes of Greenpeace & PETA.
If you don't fish you really have NO IDEA what is going on.

If you don`t fish, you think Salmon Grouper is an endangered fish because this is what you are told. If you fish, you know Salmon Grouper are so
abundant they are a pest.
My money is on the captains who are on the water 300 days a year. They say the BFT fishery is thriving!!
