Quote:
Survey’s disclosed that the number one complaint was sidewall failure; 86% of tire failures were sidewall related. Of those, 60% were splits in the sidewall and they fixed it, calling the technology CoreGard. In response to the need for longer lasting tires the new tread is twice as long lasting, more resistant to the kinds of wear the industry calls chipping. Stones caught in the tread blocks are now pushed out as the tire flexes, as is mud and dirt.

Good news... I hope it proves to be true!

I had a nail in one of my BFGs and took it to Big Brand Tires and I asked the guys there about the new KO2 tires and when they will be out and they didn't know anything about them. I explained what I knew and they seemed a bit surprised. They were counter guys and not the manager or owner so maybe they would be the last to know. One of the guys that went down for the testing is an off-racer and he said they seem to work really good, but time will tell.

Strange, My km2s are much more quiet than Goodyear and toyos.

My new KM2s are so freaking noisy that I might swap to KO2s for some relief. I wear earplugs on my daily drive to work and home - with the KOs, it wasn't necessary. The KM2s are superb off-road, though.

So Ken, when you say noisy, how would that compare to 36 " swampers on a GMC jimmy going down the highway at 60:lol:

I ran TSL-SXs on my Ford Ranger back in 2000 - not as noisy as the Swampers at 20,000 mi., but not far off, either.
