Get off the toll road at la Fonda...go in and pound a few....back on the free road to La Mision and on to Ensenada.

That's it I'm gonna pound a few at 7:00am then drive. :bounce::tumble:

So do I stay on the free road all the way into Ensenada or do I get to go back on the Toll road at some point. I'll be pulling a small boat.

The free road will drop you off a couple hundred yards/meters south of the Ensenada toll booth. You will basically be at San Miguel heading south towards Ensenada. Where it connects is technically not the toll road.

late for Baja or late to start drinking beer? crossing at San Yesidro around 6:00am tourist cards and such. figure hit the detour around 7:00am gonna try to make it to Guerrero Negro by dark.
Apple thanks for the map. I looked on google earth too. I've taken the toll road many times but never had to get off anywhere. never taken the free road at least not in a long long long time. I have to make a stop in Point Loma or else I would go through Tecate.

... where you have to get off the toll road and cut inland on the free road has mostly all been recently repaved, which is nice. for towing a trailer be aware there are some steep winding sections with minimal or no shoulder, a few sharp downhill curves, and it can also get foggy on that run in the mornings.
