Restaurants and Lodging
For a forthcoming trip up the Baja Peninsula from San Jose del Cabo to Tecate, I would appreciate current recommendations for accommodations and
restaurants in Loreto, Guerrero Negro or Rosarito, San Quintin and Valle de Guadalupe. Thank you.

Loreto has many fine places to eat and to stay. I'm certain many folks will chime in with their favorites. We have stayed often in Hacienda Suites and
had dinner next door at Domingo's Place. Charbroiled steak and fish and a whole lot more. The room at Hacienda Suites comes with a complimentary
buffet breakfast.
Guerrero Negro sadly does not have many decent restaurants. Many folks think Malarrimo is the best. Mario's outside of town, just above the border is
good, too.
There is a new hotel/ restaurant called Terra Sal on the right side as you enter town. It has gotten very good reviews, but we have yet to stay there.
The Hotel Cowboy is also a very nice place to stay.
As for San Quintin, no contest. Hotel Jardines de Baja is wonderful. And, they have a restaurant that is among the best for miles in either direction.
Family owned and operated.

I second that about Jardines in San Quintin. I usually stay at Hotel Mision Santa Maria, mainly because it's right on the beach. Rooms are very nice
but the restaurant food is nothing to write home about. If you're just staying one night and want great food, I would suggest Jardines.

same family. THE BEST TACOS in central Baja! quick and cheap!

In Loreto I strongly suggest Sabor restaurant. Had lunch there today and as usual, it was great. It's not just that the food is prepared in amazing
ways, the family of Mari, Chris and Ashley really make you feel at home. They are closed Monday and Tuesday so adjust your eating schedule
accordingly.

By the way, I agree regarding Jardines and the restaurant next door.
What is your price range for accommodations Loreto?

In Loreto we stay at the Coco Cabanas - great location - kind of off the beaten path and the rooms are apt style with kitchens, fridge, pool.

I've heard and read many good things about Sabor. May give it a try. My personal problem is that after driving all day, I am loathe to get back in the
car to drive to dinner. And Sabor is out of town to the South. That's one of the reasons that I go to Domingos because it's right next store to
Hacienda Suites.

I'll 2nd the Hotel Mission Santa Maria in San Quintin. Great location on a quiet beach. I like the restaurant but then again I like Captain Crunch.

Yes this place is great...much better than the restaurant at Cowboy. Thanks for the heads-up Woody.

We enjoy staying at Las Cabanas de Loreto - great hosts, nice rooms and pool. Walking distance to downtown restaurants.

Even after the Los Pinos folks upgraded the place, it still makes me feel like I'm participating in The Shining. The basic architecture of the place
is just so cold.
That said, their upgrade of the restaurant made it a place to visit.
