Get a new one, they don't replace them, as far as I heard. You can apply/ask at a port. $50 or so. IF you are in a marina in baja usually there is an expediter who will do it for you for $50 more.

If it's for a car you have to have an official statement as to why you've lost it, otherwise you forfeit your deposit.

I was able to get one for my truck (plus 3 dirt bikes) online no problem.

It kept kicking me out on step 5 with the boat permit. I suspect my existing TIP has years left on it, but no idea where it is. Wonder if that's why the online registration failed.

Anyway I've got a local working with the marina to get me a new one. Hopefully can get it next week before crossing the border.

been there done that. Yep lost my sticker. So could not take LaPaz ferry with any vehicle.

Had to drive that motorcycle to TJ to have it removed, they have you and the vehicle in the computer. Hence with a different vehicle could not take the ferry.

There was no charge once I did take the bike to TJ. I have the new location of the building on my website www.la-ventana.info under travel by land.
