van renting

I want to spend 5 weeks in Baja next summer. I have been reading and daydreaming about it for a while now.

I have a couple questions just now.

Is it possible to rent a mini-van to use for the trip?

If I use my mini-van how much is insurance and how much coverage do I need?

There is a place in the San Diego area that rents many vehicles for Baja trip, they are also Nomad members... http://cabaja.com/

I believe there are one or two US rental agencies that allow their vehicles to go to Mexico. Call around. You could look into renting one in Mexico as well. I rented a car once in Cabo.

Good luck!

Have heard, not done it myself, that Dollar Rentals allows their vehicles into Baja, from the US, insurance,a ballpark figure, full coverage for 5 weeks approx $260 plus , sometimes the daily
or monthly rate catches up with the 6 month rate at 4 weeks
or so

Leave your 420 at home or you might end up spending more than 5 weeks in Baja
