Eating in La Paz
Happy New Year to all!!! Besides La Fonda, the Bismarck stand and La Pazta, what are some good and not expensive places to eat in La Paz? Are there
any new ones? Preferably within walking distance of the main square. the above have been our standbys, as well as one of the stands at the Bravo
Mercado where the food is great. .

Gonzalez Hermanos for seafood tacos, empanados etc on the street next to La Perla...killer!
There is an Irish bar there right on the square toward the malecon. Havent eaten there so send a report if you do.
Caffe Milano has fabulous Italian food. Their t-bone is huge. kinda pricey 165mn but more than enough for a doggy bag even(or especially) if you
dont have a dog. I also tried their homemade sausage and it was delicious. They are right up the street from La Perla going away from town. same
street as Gonzalez Hmos
Happy Eating..
oh just remember Angel Azul for breakfast. across from the theatre parking lot just off the square headed out of town.

La Pazta
Good Italian food and good service - right around the corner from the Los Arcos Hotel.

Annie - we too are very fond of La Fonda and Bismark Cito. We had an enjoyable dinner at Bistrot Francais last visit, located close to Caffe Milano
and Los Arcos. Very tasty fare and while not as value packed as La Fonda, not unreasonably priced, either. The setting of their patio dining area is
neat, too - very heavily vegetated ('jungle-ly' for lack of a better word). Has anyone tried Bismark II a seafood place at Degollado and Altamirano?
We're headed back to La Paz in late Jan. and are in the hunt for new places to dine, too. Esther and her staff at the Angel Azul whip up some
impressive from-scratch breakfasts, everything from chilaquiles and omletes to muesli.

expat2b -
We have eaten at that Bismark a few times - lobster. Dinners were delicious and the price more reasonable than other spots. The restaurant is small
with a nice ambiance and is frequented by locals, often large families. Seems to be run by a mother with her daughter's assistance; they're friendly
and gracious, doing all they can to be sure our dining experience is a pleasant one.
While I realize some folks don't care for it, our experience has been good. It has, however, been a couple years since I've been there.

Expat, That good word on Bismark II came from Natalie Ann, who always seems to have good information, so I guess that's another eating place to try.
Happy traveling all.
