...In Baja California, heavy snowfall led to the closing of La Rumorosa, the mountain pass between Tecate and Mexicali, for much of the day. The state's Civil Protection Office said up to 18 inches of snow was recorded in the Sierra de Juarez and San Pedro Martir regions.

In Tijuana, the Mexican Army was called in yesterday afternoon to help civilian authorities evacuate two dozen families that live near the Alamar River, said Jose Luis Rosas, a state civil protection official.

"The level of the stream is rising fairly rapidly," Rosas said...
