Half cab over Callen and SENTRI

Has anyone had a problem getting approved for SENTRI with a 1/2 cab over Callen?

Completely wide open, empty, no cabinets.

Thanks for any info. I might need to pull it off for my appt.

Mine was approved. Same design.

Just had a friend tell me he was declined. Same Callen as mine and yours. The agent declined from the outside, not even looking at the interior.

Which office? Not sure about appeals.

Arbitrary/discretion of agent on duty?

On my SENTRI renewal I had a new truck with a GIANT cab over camper on it. Called beforehand and was told as long as the camper was off the truck when I used it in MX they would approve it. Total sense, right?

Brought the truck down for inspection WITH the camper on. The agent inside said no problem, they will just inspect the truck.

The agent outside decides that he would NOT inspect the truck at all unless the camper was physically off the truck. No amout of talking common sense to him would work. I was told that my application would be on hold and to come back with the camper off the truck.

Two weeks later I get my approved SENTRI pass. I let you figure out if was able to get back down and inspected in that time frame......

Depends on the inspector. I have been questioned on why my Callen Camper was approved but never was turned back by an inspector.

So you plan on using your SENTRI only with the camper off your truck? Did they say anything about having a camper/shell on your truck when you went back?

Funny, I was told that as long as there are no compartments/cabinets/drawers/carpet kits, they would just view it as a camper shell, not a "camper", and approve it. They want to be able to open the door and clearly see the interior of the back of the truck.

A friend of mine has actually been warned when he crossed Sentri that he had "too much" camping gear in his camper shell and he could lose his Sentri rights if he did it again...

Well that's what it is. Wide open with nothing inside. I'll find out tomorrow. Crossing my fingers.

Got it. It didn't hurt to flirt with the female inspector. So stoked.
