2015 Las Vegas MINT 400 *Josh passing Robert Acer video!

The Mint 400 was the first American desert race created... following the success in Baja in 1967!

Rooting for our son Josh in the Mattox car #1517.
The unlimited classes (TT & 15) race begins at 2:30 today. BITD Class 15 is = SCORE Class 1.

EDITED Mar. 22, 2015 for video clip:

15 second VIDEO (turn on sound):

https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=965733873478342&pnr...

Josh is in the blue Class 1 (Class 15 BITD), closer to the camera, passing Robert Acer in the Trophy Truck... Josh told me today that was a very cool moment, and he glanced over to Acer who gave Josh (in the co-driver seat) an acknowledgement hand 'nod'.

Bummer! They were doing great and came to a stop at Checkpoint 1 as required, the race car behind them (#1542) did not stop and rammed them from behind. 1517 may be too badly damaged to continue? We are watching and waiting...

Hi Ken, we were up to midnight following #1517... which was moving along, but back about in the middle of the pack. To finish would be great. Josh texted that he an Ross Mattox got out after Lap 1 and turned the racer over to their teammates. They had originally planned on running the first two, and leting the others drive the last lap. Laps are 122 miles. Lap 1 beat them up so bad (getting slammed in the rear at Checkpoint 1 didn't help) they were thrashed after 122 miles.

I just looked at all the Internet sites I could find, and only the winners of the Trick (Trophy) Truck class (Justin Lofton) and that Robby Gordon came in second, and Unlimited 1500 (Score Class 1) class were posted. Sam Berri in #1549 is that class winner. Videos: https://www.facebook.com/themint400

The tracking map shows the racer is back at the main pit, so it looks like they finished... When we hear more, I will add.

Thank you.

Still not confirmed their finish position... but around 10th-12th in class... but they finished and it was super rough, not like Baja racing!
