If it were me, I would take a collectivo from the airport South into San Jose del Cabo, and have them drop me off at the bus station and catch the
first bus going to La Paz as I would have to go there to make the connection for a bus North anyway.
Than upon arriving at the La Paz bus station, I would check what time the next bus runs to Loreto, if they had room and make my decison as to if I was
going to catch it or spend the night in La Paz and take a bus North the next morning. Even if I was taking the bus the next morning, if I could I
would buy my ticket before I left the bus station, that would gurantee me a seat, I expect.
The last time I took a bus North from La Paz was many years ago, but at that time the last bus that would drop you in Loreto left at 9 p.m.
Happy Trails, Sara

I dont know what exactly Sara means by collectivo but there are none that go to the airport. From the airport you can only take a cab($40 to san
jose) or a shuttle($15) or walk out to the highway and then take a collectivo into San Jose or bus headed to La Paz. I believe that the buses run
every 2 or 3 hours but I agree with Sara that going into San Jose to the bus station is the best way to go. The buses from here run through Los
Barriles or Todos Santos. In your case, I doubt that you care which one which will give you more options. I was just at the bus station yesterday
but if I find myself there again soon I will post any info I can discover for you.
Buses are always an adventure of their own, so have fun!

definition of collectivo - Shuttle
Judy, we are on the same page, you just knew what to call it up there and well, and I plumb forgot.
Here in Oax., they call them collectivo. Wow, $15 bucks to the bus station. The last time I took one was how many years ago????? Anyway, it was only
$2 DLLs.

The times they are a changin' here and the prices have gone through the roof. The taxista union is so strong that we have the highest rates in
Mexico. The last time we flew in we took a cab because we had to get home so we could get to the kennel before it closed. To my house which is 1km
from San Jose it was $50. I almost fainted. Ten dollars more for 1km.
I dont know what the collectivos(collectivos here are any form of van, minibus..small mulit-passenger vehicle that run from barrio to barrio. They
are not allowed at the airport) cost but there are also urbano buses that Jerry could take to the bus station(you still have to walk to the
highway....probably 1/2 mile) and I think the they are 5 pesos.
