JUST THE SAME, ONLY DIFFERENT...
Not from experience, but i'd figger anyone who goes south for Semana Santa will come home Monday (NOB has a 3-day weekend) or later Sunday, and should
be heavier traffic north-bound. You didn't specify which way you're concerned about.
Kinda like any holiday (Thanksgiving, Spring Break, etc...) the usual mass crowds lemming their way to and from their perspective frolicking points.
The day before the 'final rush' can actually be more crowded, or equally so as the final rush for home. During the week beforehand (Easter Sunday),
there's the crush of NOB's fleeing the melee, so ya takes yer chances.
The price of suburbia, que no? When you get to the crossing, put your feet in
the stirrups and TRY to relax.

Flew in from Oaxaca on the 16th last month. Got to the walk through line at Otay and discovered it was Benito Juarez day (Holiday) and the line was
long...2 hours long! Most awesome experience though. Vendors with food and drink for sale, musicians and singers every hundred feet or so performing,
crowd smiling and kids wandering.
Attitude, that's what it is all about. Most of my experience (outside of TJ car lines) has been a go with the flow by the locals. Thinking of marking
my calendar for the next holiday and do a walk around at Otay for some entertainment.

I'd guess Sunday afternoon/evening will take hours to get across at all the crossings.

It's a good excuse to stay in Baja a day or two longer!

As most of us realize, Sunday afternoons are heavy but it seems the wait is not nearly as it was prior to the new construction at SY. Even with the
new facility, I see many unmanned booths on Sunday afternoons.
I am interested to hear how many booths will be manned Ester Sunday. I don't think the are enough employees to man all of them.

yellowkir didn't mention which crossing (or day) but here's my latest from tijuana. on monday my son crossed regular lane about 10am-45minutes.
Wednesday I crossed about 11am-1hour. I tried the ready lane and was in it 20 minutes before I caught up to the back of the regular lanes!
I don't think I will be bothering with the ready lane again.

The TJ crossing is MUCH better now. I've been using it regularly both driving and walking for years. And it's true, the regular lanes can be faster
than the ready lanes. Seems that the max wait time is about one hour now, holidays excluded. Many times it's only 10 or 20 minutes. The construction
isn't completed yet, so more improvements are on the way.
Of course SENTRI is the fastest.

AND the fasttrack lane is now a dedicated lane that drops you off about 20 cars back in the regular lanes.
now if we can just get paris de noche to offer fasttrack passes!

My personal longest wait times were on Easter Sunday, even with Sentri I waited a hour. I remember a 4 hour wait at Tacate many years ago.

Yesterday 4 a.m. at the old gate: 45 seconds. The place was deserted. Amazing. Today past noon......you may as well not bother crossing til late
Monday afternoon.
...and the is a police control check point 15 miles south of Mexicali. Looking for drunks I'' have to assume.
Old people are like the old cars, made of some tough stuff. May show a little rust, but good as gold on the inside.

It wasn't too bad yesterday (Easter Sunday). We got to the border around 11:00 am and waited about an hour. No big deal.

Good news so far! Not like the old days when you would grow old waiting in holiday lines.

I came back last night and got in the border just after 7. Sentri was about 20 minutes, the regular line looked like it was about an hour. It was
definitely way shorter than I expected considering it was Easter Sunday!
