That's not a bad idea! I'm a total loss on the spanissh keyboards, so much so that I always request and english one even if I have to sit in the
hottest part of the room at the internet cafe. I'd imagine that for home use, it might be best to simply purchase and install another keyboard so you
could switch back and forth between the two. - Stephanie

Dave -
If I understand your question:
If you're using microsoft you can select whatever languages you want by going to: settings:control panel:and then select "Language".
Once you have the language screen:
1) Add spanish to your list of languages.
2)Select a method of switching between languages - I think the default here is "left" alt+shift.
If you're using a keyboard in a cyber cafe in Mexico just try the left alt+shift thing - a lot of times that'll do it. Otherwise go through the steps
above to see what the method is to change between languages.
I've never heard of any stick ?m templates but I'm sure they exist..
BTW : The majority of spanish speakers I communicate with casually in spanish just use the english keyboard and skip the accents, ?, and ?s and other
stuff - but yeah - it's nice to be able to write correctly at times.
For casual chat I mostly just stick to the english keyboad and put up with the extra key stroke or 2 it takes to do the special characters when there
might be an ambiguity.
If you decide to go this route check out the character map (for the english keyboard) on your computer and make notes of the half dozen or so desired
characters.

I did a search and came up with this....
http://www.smartlinkcorp.com/new/Spanish-keytop-labels-SL901...
Steph, if you use two keyboards you would have to get a switch.
Braulio, I found out what the Alt + keys were however since my keyboard has no number pad I can't get them to work. The numbers on the top row don't
work with Alt + .

Thanks for that link, Dave. I've been using little pieces of sticky notes or paper & scotch tape or those little adhesive dots with the symbols inked
in. Sooner or later, they all fall off or wear out. I run Windows 98 on my home laptop and there are only a few changes, with more of the "dead-key"
function for the tilde, accents, etc. But the "improvements" in Windows 2000 on my office puter have 26 changes making it a royal pain. We have an
IBM Spanish keyboard here but have never gotten around to hooking it up. I never use the alt-shift. I just toggle back & forth by clicking the mouse
on the little blue square icon with "EN" or "ES" on it.

PD to Dave - I see the same site has a list of idioms - I don't know how extensive a list it is.
