swimming diving platforms
I have not seen any of the types of floating rafts or platforms used for swimming and diving commonly found in lakes and larger ponds in the USA
anywhere on the sea of Cortez are they not allowed?

so your just saying it's not doable because of the wave action. what if you just hauled it on shore where there were expected waves.

Maybe because lakes and ponds don't have much tidal action (re: platforms anchoring system), less of that type of beach action happening on Sea of
Cortez (folks swimming out 60 feet to jump off a platform usually covered with duck/goose droppings), or major beach cultural differences....,.

if you build it, they will come (well, they will come until the wind and waves destroy it)
if you need a swim platform, use a dinghy, kayak, panga, yacht or mega yacht - whatever you can afford.
btw, there are plenty of rocks and cliffs along the shores of baja to give you plenty of jumping/diving thrills

Years ago in Bahia Conception, we used a 14 foot catamaran similar to a Hobiecat without a mast. It was easy to launch and anchor, and the platform
was great for a few kids or a couple of adults.
I could drag it up on the beach by myself if I had to.

Also, not counting the wind and wave action, it would attract Pelicans and other seabirds by the dozens and it would be covered with guano in no time.
But you could take that home for your plants?

Roger at hotel Villa Bahia in BoLA built one a few years ago and anchored it out in front of his place. The first wind that came up washed the
contraption ashore. Roger being the determined kind of guy he is got it back out and anchored it more securely this time. It lasted a few more weeks,
mainly cause we had some calm weather. But as Vandenberg said it would, it became a platform for the birds. Pretty soon it was the stinkiest, slimiest
eyesore you can imagine. No one was able to use it as a swim platform. It finally washed ashore again and became a beach eye sore.
Off grid, 12-190 watt evergreen solar panels on solar trackers, 2-3648 stacked Outback inverters, 610ah LiFePo4 48v battery bank, FM 60 and MX60
Outback charge controllers, X-240 Outback transformer for 240v from inverters, 6500 watt Kubota diesel generator.

It was always a dream of mine to get viewing platforms put into Ojo de Liebre whale watching lagoon. It is protected there so it might work..anchor
them in the shallows right beside the canals so they dont disturb the whales...with the idea that pangas drop people off there and they can watch
whales happily for hours without chasing them around! Picture a tiki bar with food and drinks...hell ya!

Now....about those pelicans and cormorants: there would need to be an official PPP managing the platforms (Pelican Poop Patrol).

that sounds like a perfect idea, easy to bring ashore for clean up
