Alfonsina's

Can anyone tell me if Alfonsina's has AC and if so what are the hours that is available? I did a search but the posts are a few years old so wanted to verify from someone that has been there recently. I will also send an email to them.

Was there, but only to have dinner, last month. NO A/C because NO Generator (i.e. quiet), off the grid... The rooms were all booked (we asked about getting a room). The windows are all open, with the strong sea breeze flowing through. $80. Not sure if they have ceiling fans for night comfort? Solar/ wind charged batteries for light power.

Rooms on the right as seen from dining area, July, 2015.

They had newer model air conditioners on some of the rooms when we were there last spring but with the weather being so cool at that time of the year they never ran the generator. The generator was old and possibly not working anymore :?:
I would take Carlos's advice and continue calling. Rough on the canines this time of year so the lagoon coyotes spend alot of time sitting in the shade of local resident's palapas

Thanks for the correction Lionel. For $80, it should have A/C!

Yes, they have AC for sleeping hours (about 9:00 pm) in a few of the rooms at least.

there aren't any outlets because they don't have power. Alfonsina's is solar only.....but the main rooms do have a/c units run on the generator for certain hours only.

Thanks for the updates!
Last time I slept at Alfonsina's (actually next door at Doug Bowles house) was in 1999, and only a wind generator was used to charge up light batteries. I also stayed several homes south, a few years later, so I didn't hear any generator running. Seems to me when Mike Humfreville stayed at the hotel, he said it didn't have A/C... but again, that was 10 years ago!
Times change... they even have a paved highway there now!!! LOL

Don't know why some people insist on providing 10 year old information. It is usually incorrect.
