Hopefully changes will be coming to the San Ysidro Border crossing
I just read an article in the local newspaper that hopefully they will get this new border crossing straightened out. There have been some big delays
I observed in crossing from San Ysidro. This is mostly due to the FMM form that they make you fill out every time you cross. It has impacted the
businesses that rely on foot traffic in town. I saw officials there from Immigration observing the problems on Thursday afternoon. I purchased a 180
day FMM card that allows me to go on the Mexican National Line to bypass the logjam of daycrossers. I could only imagine the problems they would have
if the extended these checks to the car crossing! The link to the
article is at the bottom of this post...

Even a bad day in Baja is better then a good day somewhere else!

Even with no checks going south into Mexico, Friday afternoon is not for the weak of heart. We had a traffic jam all the way from 8 south on the 805,
and then things got really bad when 5 dumped into the mix.
The best thing I have ever witnessed happened yesterday. An impatient car went to the left shoulder and barreled past everyone who had been patiently
waiting but when he tried to get back in, no one would let him in the line, so after several hand and arm gestures, the poor idiot finally gave up,
went through the U-turn lane and back into the US to wait for a better time. Does your heart good to see justice served.

that's not "justice." that's just lack of civility of ALL involved.
something happens to peoples brains when they get in cars. they become rude and uncivil. happens to most everyone sooner or later.
i once was driving up I5 at 805 merge and watching a road rage unfold behind me, visible in my rear view mirror. as it got up to my location I saw
that the apparent aggressor was my biz client. he was clearly temporarily insane, screaming and flipping the bird. We were already considering him a
problem client, difficult to deal with (for other reasons that uncontrollable temper), and I decided then to fire him as soon as we completed our
contract, and never do more work for him.
The moral? You may behave on the highway in ways you would never behave in person, thinking on the highway you are anonymous. You are sometimes wrong
and you may never know how you inflict damage on yourself via the court of public opinion
anywho, i think it is silly to enact petty revenge on transgressing drivers by not letting offending driver merge after their transgressions. why let
the offender raise your own blood pressure?

While I admire your generous nature in this situation, personally I don't like to see bad behavior rewarded.
