Can I bring a motorbike with my van?
I'm sure this has been answered already, but I can't seem to find the info....
I'm wondering if I bring a motorbike with my van when I cross (alone) the border into Mexico?
I know there's generally a one-vehicle-per person, so that means if I'm traveling alone am I not allowed to bring a hitch-mounted motorbike -- right?
I've read that there's an exception for RVs pulling "toad" cars, so perhaps there might also be an exception for hitch-mounted bikes?

With your van means inside the van?
Either way.....towed, on a cycle toting hitch or inside your van.....your fine.
Just be prepared to prove it's yours.

Insurance laws apply too, must be currently registered and insured in the States, and covered on your Mex. Auto Insurance policy. No problemas.

so much fun with a little bike before, and never heard the words, "SE VENDE???" so many times in my life. It was a hit everywhere I went. in 2003 I
finally sold it to a big hairy biker/garbageman who was going to restore it, put it in the chase trailer and take it to Sturgis that fall for the
Rally to putt around the infield on. Wot a visual!
I don't have a BUCKET LIST, but I do have a F***- IT LIST a mile long!

Insurance only applies if it is on-road. Does not apply if off-road.

True, but it's only a few bucks more, and you can have the best of both worlds, say for a quick beer run... que no? 
I also believe Mexico has a helmet law too; depends on the gendarme. I'm sure the moto-heads will correct me if mistaken.

Yes....you are correct.
Just make sure you have proof of ownership for the bike.
Watch out for the silt beds.....

The moto must be registered. Off road registration is accepted.

Okay, now I am confused. Richard....registered with who/what?
I have always understood that dirtbikes don't need to be registered or plated/licensed with anybody/thing for off-road use ..... highway/city travel
might be different....depending on police attitude....?????

Sorry for my short answer. To bring the vehicle into Mexico, technically it must be registered to you. USA Off road green sticker registration is
accepted as is USA street registration. Mine was checked, they did not want to see a title. Others have not been checked. Same with bringing in race
cars, they want to see a registration and a vin number on the car, mine was checked and an offroad California sticker was accepted.

Once here, you need nothing for offroad, plates and insurance for the highway. ( but the cops love off road vehicles and give you a thumbs up)
