Tecate Mayor hopes for additional northbound lanes, SENTRI and Ready lanes

http://www.verazinforma.info/noticias/tecate/2015/10/12/5663...

He's dreaming if he thinks the USA Feds have any interest in Tecate. Nice wishful thinking though.

Personally, I'd rather he devoted energy to several, more easily solved, problems on his side of the border:
1. Acquire land and widen the southbound entry lanes and inspection area (currently there is no space to accommodate a van towing utility trailer in the "Declare" area. Ask how I know, ja ja).
2. Promptly complete the renovation of the main drag (Hwy 2) so that vehicles don't have to detour along narrow streets and alleys, immediately upon crossing southbound. At least put up a few signs which show a detour.
3. Acquire land and create a wide, rounded, final turn for northbound traffic at the USA gates. (Currently large motorhomes and/or trailers either have difficulty or cannot make the required sharp turn).

On line translation of the article:

The mayor of Tecate announces 4 more lanes of border crossing, SENTRI and Ready Lane, plus the construction of a bridge on Mexico Avenue.

For the first time in the history of Tecate a mayor brings to Washington the main needs of the town to be heard directly by those who have the power of decision to the other side of the border. Thus, engineer César Moreno says in an exclusive interview with team true to within the nearest actions found the construction of a new border crossing between Mexico Tecate and Tecate California with high technology facilities at the height of the current times since more than 40 years is not renewed the site including 4-lane Sentry, Ready Lane, and a bridge over the Av. Mexico. "Facilities have more than 40 years for what he already did the Executive project and a commitment to the Presidency of the Republic is the part that corresponds to the Government of Mexico, so the Treasury already has it contemplated by 2016, already has the resources to start with tax courts and subsequently the crossing" all buildings will collapse and will be totally modern with the highest technology this in 2016 ", said Mr. César Moreno. Also unveiled that you will build a vehicular bridge that would cross by the Mexican Poe and would come to the crossroads, from the Av Mexico from West to East, "to not to interfere and not to make a clash of crosses by the Federal Government," said the first councilman. They would modify 94 Freeway. During the above authorities, the Mayor acknowledged that it had kept the issue on the US side, and had given him close as they say colloquially, by what looked for ways to raise the urgency of trade openness as well as the mobility of freight trucks with certain specifications for the 94 Freeway, while it is considered as a historical path and is not ruled out that some of the curves can be modified to stop the commercial and tourist development on both sides of the border. "It's not fair that we have these constraints in Tecate with world-class as brewery companies and that they need to go to the border with Tijuana order to cross their goods, is matter of be finding the sum of wills and resources," said Mayor César Moreno. Without water or drainage. Another big brakes for the advance of Tecate California and in consequence of Tecate Mexico is that you there is drainage or water across the border, so building permits are not given. "Tecate California has not grown by a lack of water and drainage, they have construction permits for this detail, why not trade has triggered as in other borders where cross already there is movement, large stores, malls of first level, hence, it raised the possibility of us allow to use our facilities for them connect and who have service to detonate the economic zone and that for them" It is also profitable,"added the Mayor of Tecate. Thus, the present Municipal Government does not remove toe the line and continue betting on topics that they would actually transformed to Tecate, either at the federal or international level changes that would no doubt make this site of the Baja California a more prosperous place taking full advantage of its quality of unique magical people of the northern border.
