Mike's Sky Ranch

Rumor has it the employees quit and the place is a mess. Like I said just a rumor. I haven't been there in almost two years. I hope it is not true. Anyone have any info or been there recently.

Yep, the longtime crew of employees all quit around the first of the year.

XploreBaja had 25 moto guys and crew there overnight on a peninsula run to Cabo in the middle of March. Juan and his crew from the Wide Open crew were there to cook, serve and handle the food portion for dinner and breakfast.

The bar actually CLOSED shortly after dinner so the riders weren't too happy, but thats the way it is.

I'm sure its fine for ones and two-seys but I would make sure your ducks are lined up if you go there in a large group.

Of course, this was back in March...

What does Mike charge per person now. Last time I was there it was $70 for room, dinner and breakfast per person.

David and Blanca are my freinds(the ones that run Mikes) They live across the street.I will walk over there tomorrow, and ask.About the bar,in the past they only open for big groups. Always serve beer.Be careful when you order gas.Me eleven bikes there,Mike did not show up,no gas.David drained all the trucks there, got us filled up.We all most always now stay at Coyote,or Mellings.

We stayed last year and it was $70 a person. Always a fun first day of riding and good place to stay after crossing the border. Every time I take new guys to Mikes, they fall in love with it. Two years ago the ride out the backway was pretty crazy on big bikes (990's)! Last year on the XR650'S there was a new route that bypassed the bad down hill and came out at the ranch . Very cool place.....

Just got back last night. I hadn't been to Mike's since last summer. Cost is still $70 per person and includes dinner, a bed and breakfast the next day. It seemed pretty much the same as last year...staff was friendly, rooms were clean and food was good. I'll post a trip report shortly with some pictures...

I was there in September and all was normal... Mike was there and the bar was open! Gotta love those margaritas!
