What do you all learned Baja residents consider a "livable cost" to live in Baja Sur?

So many variables; house or palapa? Beach camping? Waterfront or in town? How many amenities? Bare simplicities or buy-in? Utilities, or portable solar?

We really save money living in a small village with not alot of shopping or bars etc to spend money on. I do know that there are retirees living comfortably here on a small pension...but they arent big spenders either!
