Rental car insurance for Baja

I will be flying to Loreto over the holidays, and will rent a car. I have done this before, but don't remember how the insurance part works exactly.

I have credit cards that allow me to "decline the collision damage waiver at the rental car counter."

Is there some insurance that I am required to purchase in addition to that?

This spring we rented a car from Alamo in Loreto (not airport) and they were super helpful, friendly. As I recall, the process was exactly like in the states - for a few bucks more, you can make all liability go away. They're 100' west of El Pescador Mercado, same side of street.

Thanks. I checked Alamo in town, but they didn't have the car I wanted.

My question was primarily about avoiding having to pay for insurance that I don't have to have.

I'm better off leaving a car down at the airport. The storage right outside charges $500 per year for uncovered parking, and $1,000 for covered parking.

Does anyone know of any less expensive covered parking options around Loreto?
