Agua Caliente ?

You might want to be more specific since most of the hot springs in Baja have that name!

Try using the Baja Nomad search engine for recent posts as well.

Since you are in La Paz, maybe you are refering to the Agua Caliente near Santiago? Please give a report when you return!

Well, there are actually 2 hot springs near Santiago. One now costs $5 to go into but is almost worth it. This guy, whose name escapes me, has built a wall around them which is nice. He will come to collect if you miss him on your way in. A funny story: A friend of mine who is, shall we say frugal, got into the hot springs and was enjoying the water when the guy came to collect his $5. She refused to pay and he promptly went to this little rock which served as a plug and removed it. Within a few minutes, my friend was sitting on a pile of rocks without a drop of water around her. Now she pays!
The other place is where there is a dam that you used to be able to swim in a pool with warm water bubbling up from the bottom on the upstream side but the pool is now full of sand(no warm water bubbling up) and about ankle deep. The actual hot springs are in a little cement box that is not big enough to even sit in. I believe that if you hike up the canyon you can find more but I haven't done that in years.
As David said if you ask a local for the aqua caliente, you could get directions to either place.
When are you leaving? If I can get my hands on them I believe that I have the gps coordinates for the $5 place.
