Corky, TW, Tunaeater on bikes and others on four wheels talked about exploring the Bill Nichols 'Cross Baja' trail from south of Puertecitos to El
Metate and on to San Quintin... at least the first part in Arroyo Los Heme (Baja Almanac Map 16).
The latest AAA map shows 5.3 miles of it drivable, branching off 7.4 miles south of Puertecitos.
The SquareCircle is interested in exploring this route (as am I)...

David, TW, Tunaeater,
The area David described in the posting above is the eastern half of the Bill Nichols trail. The first portition going w/b is probably drivable for
about 5 to 7 miles.
The rest of the trail is pretty narly.
Not a trail for the average Baja fun rider.
The area I want to start from is about 25 east of El Progresso.
The area I want to come out is about 30 miles south of Puertecitos.
Baja Almanac Page 16-Start at E4 and end at G2.
I don't understand what this means??

It means 'TheSquarecircle' (a Baja Nomad, first name is Roy) is interested in exploring this route, as am I (David K)...

You are talking about Arroyo el Volcan (misnamed Zamora in the Almanac)?
Corky, that is where you tried before with BillB and Max (mcgyver), and the dry waterfall blocked you guys... Bill offered to hoist your rigs up with
his Rokon helping... Do you want to come down from El Marmol/ El Volcan and see if there is a trail that avoids the waterfall?
Maybe using the Arroyo* just south is a way across to El Volcan (* the one named El Volcan in the Almanac)

Corky, I'm doing the Pole Line run with the Jeep group on April 1st-3rd. I have to be back in Bakersfield for part of the following week. I'm planning
on taking the 7th and 8th off or the 8th and the 11th off depending on how things work out. More days if possible. I'll know which ones by the 4th.
Anyway I want to come down and ride the El Marmol trip. I'm trying to get my brother to come down too. He doesn't ride bikes anymore but can meet us
at locations in my Toyota with gas, food and drinks, etc.
