Fishing boat registration in Baja
I've been told that fishing boats have to be registered in Baja.
I have a little 8 ft folding boat and a 2 hp, 4 stroke outboard for it.
Does something that small also need to be registered?

Thanks everyone.
Now for the next question. I'll be crossing at Tecate, can I pick up the boat and fishing license's at the same place I get my tourist card? Or should
I wait until I get to Ensenada?

Snailmail
Not sure I have the time to do it by mail. How fast is the turn-around time? And do you know of a website or something showing how to apply by mail?
I'm a full-time RV'er and will be spending the next 2 weeks in Quartzsite, AZ and then crossing the border on Feb 8th. So, unless I can get it
submitted and back in that timeframe, I'll have to rely on walk-in service

Boat registration
Lots of confusion about boats. Does your boat already have a registration sticker? Is it registered in the U.S? If it is, and it's current and you
have the registration and the sticker then all you need is a Boat Permit and a fishing license. If not you'll need all 3. A registration is NOT A
BOAT PERMIT. A fishing license is NOT A BOAT PERMIT OR A BOAT REGISTRATION

1. No, my boat isn't registered in the US, it's too small to require it.
2. No it doesn't have any stickers, State, federal, or Coast Guard for the same above reason.
So I guess I'll need all three.

If you're going to cross at Tecate it isn't that much further into San Diego and San Ysidro. They're a lot of places by the harbor you can take care
of all these issues. I'm not sure if Discover baja takes care of this but for pretty cheap you can join Vagabundos del Mar tomorrow over the phone and
they'll dial you in right now.
