Cat surgery in Tijuana @Clinica Veterinaria Gutierrez
On Tuesday, July 26th, Azul the cat took a nighttime stroll, and he didn't return. I normally put him and the dogs up at dusk, but my wife and I
didn't return home until 8:30 - well past dusk. I checked on Azul up until midnight, and there was no sign of him.
On Wednesday, July 27th, Azul wandered in at 7:00 am with a strange limp and bite marks on his rear paws. I wanted to get this looked at, but my Jeep
modifications took all of my money! I spent all of Wednesday selling spare parts on-line, and with my extra cash, decided that it would be prudent to
take Azul south of the border for some reduced-price Vet care.

My wife got home from work at about 4 pm, and after packing the Pilot, we took off for Tijuana. Our friends Gabby and Terry hosted us in their villa
for the next 2 nights and 3 days which took the stress off since I didn't have much money for a decent hotel.

On Friday the 29th, at roughly noon, Azul was checked in to the Vet that my friend 'CG' uses regularly. The head Veterinarian was on vacation, but I
felt pressed against the wall with Azul injured and not knowing his prognosis. I wanted the best for Azul, and even though he could have had surgery
in my area, the soonest he could get a set of x-rays and a consultation was Friday the 29th.

The Vet did not know when Azul would be operated on. Being that communications are difficult in Mexico depending on what side of the Villa I was
standing, it seemed best to leave Azul at the Vet Clinic until he would be operated on. Leidys and I took to the town and relaxed in beautiful
Tijuana...
The Tijuana Villa boasts ocean views and excellent bird watching! The Tijuana Estuary is right behind us!

The operation went well and Azul is now recuperating at home. He is being crated more and will not have the mobility that led to him being attacked
and hurt by the animal that caused these injuries. In 3 weeks, I plan to return to Tijuana to have his pins removed from his leg and stitches taken
out of his skin. [to be continued]

I bet you saved hundreds of dollars by using a Mex vet.

Glad Azul is doing well. Vet services in baja are very good and inexpensive.
A few months ago on our return home from vacation our Scottie was drawn her bones showing and had no interest or energy.
We decided to take her to a vet in Mexicali.
To make a long story short they ran numerous test, ultrasounds, lad work and on. The vet continued to ask questions since nothing was coming up on the
all the tests that had been done. She asked about her heat cycles and told her that Nessie had missed two. After further examination the vet
recommend a spay.
We were at a loss so we said ok. The surgery went well in fact that is where they found a tumor in her reproductive track.
Nessie has fully recovered.
We were very pleased by the professional and thorough service received.
In all Nessie was in the hospital 10 days and our total cost was less than $500 for everything.
