This 1.5 hour historic film shows important events in Mexican history from the late 1800s to early 1900s with a 1940s shot at the end;

Look at Artes de Mexico
Sorry, the website is Spanish only - http://www.artesdemexico.com/adm/09/index.php
BUT, it is full of incredibly detailed, scholastic research concerning the creation of the Mexican nation by the Jesuits and their rationalization
concerning the necessity of integrating the indigenous population into the European desire for expansion and exploitation of Mexico's vast natural
resources. (That's a polite way of saying that the Jesuits recognized and encouraged Mestizos - more people, more workers).

Dennis, Thank You
For your kind remarks.
The dogs are healthy (knock wood) and happy - every new day is really new and exciting and as soon as there is daylight they are letting me know
about it.

Excuse me, but I think we need to clarify an ID. Are you the same Gypsy Jan who posted here for years? Your reply above lacked the familiarity which
I had anticipated.

Gypsy Jan (note a space between the two names) last posted on 8-12-2014: http://forums.bajanomad.com/viewthread.php?tid=74914
Said she we be off Nomad for at least 6 months for medical reasons...
Right after you (Dennis) asked where the original Gypsy Jan is, the new GypsyJan responded (on 7-9-16):
"I Am the Original GypsyJan
As you can find me on the Member List, even though I am listed as a Newbie."

Thanks for the link. After reading some of the extensive reviews I downloaded the Kindle edition.
I've often wondered why Mexico is so different from the US in economic terms. This book sheds some light on the issue.

Yes I Am the Original Gypsy Jan
Thank you, DavidK (oops, David K - joke) for helping to clarify.
Our administrator, Doug, at this point, has been unable to restore my original sign-in, so I am using the no-space nom de -plume.
It's nice to know that some people paid attention and missed me since I missed you.

Yes - a bit long winded but the first chapter alone sums it up pretty well.
