SCORE 1000 2016
Is it too soon to ask if the map for this years Score 1000 has been released yet?
Just do it!

Course was just announced by SCORE. Counterclockwise loop race, 830 miles. No San Felipe, down and back near San Quintin, going up "The Summit".
Should be interesting.

The Off Road Expo is going on now... A bunch of us Nomads used to meet up there every year to enjoy it... If any Nomad is there, please take close up
photo of the course map at the Score booth and post or email it to me to post for you. Thanks!

We are deciding right now whether to race or not. very different course. Those in BCS wishing to view the race are surely disappointed.

Hopefully...Last I saw it will be a normal peninsula race....I am wondering if this course is an indicator that there may be problems.

first ran the 1000. |
From the SCORE website
"Being held Nov. 14-18, the race will start in Ensenada, Baja California and finish in La Paz, Baja California Sur. When finalized, the grueling race
course will cover approximately 1,300 miles of the mysterious and majestic Baja California peninsula."
Baja 1000 2014 was 1275 miles.
Nothing extra long next year.

More than 1000 is extra long is what I meant. The traditional 1000s were closer to 850-950 miles long (1967-1973). The 2000 Baja race was the first
extra long race I recall, and they have had a couple since.

It looks like they will run the summit backwards. That will be a first as far as I know.

The '12 was 1120 miles and the '14 was 1200 miles - both were peninsula runs.
