Rosarito -below Punta Prieta
I think I've seen a little motel at Rosarito way down south, not the Rosarito below TJ. Thinking of doing the 5 route but not going all the way To
Guerrero Negro after getting back on the 1 for stopping for the night. Anyone have any suggestions or info?
thx

There is a little hotel in Nuevo Rosarito by the restaurant. Its advertised as a truck stop, but I have never stayed there.

"Pull in" to BOLA?
Every beautiful beach in the world needs a few condo towers - NOT.

Motel Cactus next to Mauricio's Rest. and I believe same owner. I stayed there a couple of years ago, basic clean, plenty of hot water and
inexpensive. I would stay there again.

Ask for a burrito de pollo del mar. You can thank me later.

I've eaten at the restaurant, it was good. Always wanted to try the motel but haven't yet. If you stay there please post a trip report.

I had the fish dinner and Elizabeth had the chicken. We both enjoyed our meals at Mauricio's.

Personally, the hotel rooms mentioned here are pretty spartan sleep boxes, not very enticing. In this stretch of hwy 1 I suggest camping instead of
hotels.
You might want to do some prospecting to identify camp spots in daylight of some trip,... then you'll be prepared on next trip to catch dinner at a
restaurant, then head off to find your pre-identified camp spot in the dark.
It rarely rains here, just roll out your mattress and bag and watch the stars as you fall asleep.
If you sleep inland you'll have better star gazing. Closer to the coast, coastal crud often obscures stars.

Why didn't you know about the Hotel? Must not be easy to spot.

Kurt and Honda Tom knew it, I could only confirm the food review. Like Goat, I prefer to camp under the stars.

I went ahead and invested in a metal tent. It has a seat that reclines like a barber chair, a power source if I feel like watching a movie, keeps
critters out (and mine from running off) and has a four cylinder engine to get to the next campsite!
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!
"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!

I saw that place driving by, but did not note the name... just mentioned it as an option.
