Has anybody been out to the rock art at Montevideo (road from BoLA to San Borja) lately? If so, road conditions? TIA, Paul Boe

Is September close enough?

The road in is greatly changed from my several trips of years past, a big flash flood a year or two ago took out many trees near the hill the art is on. Also, deteriorated the once smooth road. The art is fine, however.

It was doable in 2WD before, but I was say have a 4WD now. Also, plants have overgrown onto the road in places, so be prepared for a few Baja pin stripes.

More details and photos are in my September 2016 'Baja Extreme' trip report,

Thank you David!

BTW, do you have a direct link to your September trip, I couldn't find it on your web site.

It's here in Nomad in the trip reports forum, as are all my trips. My site is not nearly so complete as Nomad.

Here it is Paul: http://forums.bajanomad.com/viewthread.php?tid=84056

Sept. 2016 to Montevideo

Here are the photos from the report on Montevideo...

Photographs are the ultimate way to preserve what will someday vanish, either naturally or otherwise.

We go the 6+ miles to see the painted cliff at Montevideo.

Bump for Montevideo. Note: a locked gate is midway in to the site to stop a rancher's cattle from being taken. Camp Daggett's may have a key?

Photobucket deserves a special place down under, and I don't mean Australia.

That being said, thanks to all here for feeding our daily fix of Baja and all its wonders.

Lencho, I paid for hosting, monthly. TW did as well. Photobucket did not honor the agreement. First, they removed the sizing feature. Next, all the sized for Nomad images (800 pixels or less) jumped back to maximum size that stretches off the frame.
The last straw was the watermark appearing on all the images, and a huge increase in the price.
I hope our alternate host, Postimages.org lasts longer!
