Anyone ever rent a car to take into Baja, if so- who in San Diego
A friend asked me if there were any decent rental car places that allow the car to go into Baja. Any places in San Diego?
Anyone familiar with California Baja Rental Car in Spring Valley?
Thanks in advance
Alan

The majority of rental car companies at San Diego airport will let you take their medium size and below size vehicles to Baja. I prefer Enterprises
and have taken 4 door mid size all the way up to minivans.
They will not let there expensive vehicles like suburban's or sports cars go south of the border. We always rent for the whale trip at Easter time and
have reservations for 2017. Each company has different rates for there Mexican auto insurance witch is mandatory. I book through Priceline for the
best rates, just make sure you check each company for the Baja eligibility. I have also found that booking a weekly rental is cheaper then 3-4 day's.
I have also used Priceline for La Paz and Cabo pickup spots, those cost about $10 a day btw. Hope this helps.

When renting a US car to drive into Baja, is the insurance included in the rate, or do you have to negotiate it separately? Does it vary much from
one agency to another?
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!
"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!

Its a set rate on top of the rental fee. Usually around $30.00 per day extra, organized at the rental office. Secondary Mexican insurance at the
border is not needed.
