Should we go down to Rocky?
Have a trip planned for the first week of March to Rocky Point (I know I know it's not Baja but you guys know everything). Considering the recent
politics- shouyld we still go?

Second week of March is spring break for a lot of the schools around here. Have fun. Post some pics of the progress on the new dock at Sandy beach

OK OK :-) :-) Stupid is as stupid does. The question was brought up by some in the group (4 travel trailers who go there every year but we haven't) We
HAVE done Baja for decades. Last time was a year ago for a month down to Loreto so we're not newbies below the border.
The thought was about the stuff with the election and the border crossing, nothing more. Has anyone seen any border issues yet? I guess that would
have been a better question.
Also, unfortunately, THEY picked the first week of April to go. We're already paid for the trailer park. That's not an issue.
JJs Cantina huh? I've got a JJs Cantina that we go to in Palm Springs CA that has great Mexican food :-)

Our friends were at Playa de Oro RV park and some nights the music from surrounding businesses (bars) would vibrate their large motorcoach

I'm not sure what concerns the OP has with the election, and the border crossing, but if he is going down with four travel trailers, like he said he
did in the past.
I would say if you come upon any dangers, "circle the wagons."

Gonna resurrect this thread as we just got back. The ones who were "concerned" are still there- OK?
Our first time to Rocky, anywhere in Baja still has it beat in our minds!
We had a good time, left just as the teenagers were arriving from ASU.
20 mins at the border each way. No problemas at all. Traffic once in Mexico was standard city stuff (somewhat hidden ALTOs) until the open road. WE
paid attention to the posted speed limits but most Arizonans didn't. 90 klicks meant 90 mph for most. Had only 2 Mexico licenses pass us but maybe 150
AZ plates? Kinda disrespectful to the people and country.
Stayed at Playa Bonita Good place to park. Clean, all hookups worked. Everyone was using the water spigots for there house water.
All in all? We'll take Baja!

Rocky point is a complete sh#thole compared to San Carlos. Go further South next time.

20 plus years ago RP was a lot more like Baja. I will take Baja anytime now. Way too busy and expensive place for me.

wouldn't mind being there this up coming week for the start of the Sonora Rally, this is really shaping up to be a world class event...not to mention
the Dakar challenge
