Campo Rene for lunch!

We decided to hit up Campo Rene for lunch with our Idaho amigos and bajanomad Texas Pigiron. It was a gorgeous day to go:

Imagine our surprise when we ran into the San Ignacio contingent!!

We also met up with dear friends who are spending a couple weeks there - they brought us some goodies we had ordered:

Lunch was really delicious - my order was for tacos de camaron gobernador which is 3 tacos on a corn tortilla with shrimp n cheese inside, guacamole and Mexican bandera salsa on the side. Ohhhh so good

The waiter (whose name I think is Eduardo) speaks English really well and took very good care of us.

Nice report Blanca!
The last time I was there they only sold hamburgers... We made PB&Js, instead.
When I research that part of Baja, I will order those tacos, see you then!

Blanca, I thought that was you I saw. I was just finishing fishing and pulling my boat home.

The waiter' name is Jesus or "Chuy". Born and raised in Abreojos. Worked on a cruise ship for years and speaks English.

Did you see us as we drove by La Baliza looking for Fishhead Dave?

He does speak English so well and it was a pleasure for our friends to be able to ask him questions about the menu.

upgrades? not that I could see, but the two new cabins are there and look as pretty as ever.

It was a perfect day for C Rene and we plan to go back again soon.

Was just wondering if the runway is still in use and if so, how did it look.

Was the runway (hard pack landing field) clear of tires and ditches?
