Not true whales but whale sharks

I've had the opportunity to swim with the whale sharks twice in the last week in La Paz. Both times were tremendous and the reason why was the guide, Benjamin Duarte. Benjamin is a student of the whale sharks like Shari is of the gray whales. My trips were two hours in length each and we were on the whale sharks in 10-15 minutes each time. All you need to bring is you in a swimsuit and some sunscreen. He has a great respect for the creatures and teaches you a lot while providing you with a once in a lifetime experience (in my case it was a twice in a lifetime experience). He enters the water with you and provides guidance throughout the event. The first trip there were five of us and the second time only two. He and his captain work together to keep people constantly sharing time with the whale sharks. If interested you can contact him at Benjamin Duarte on facebook. The tours were $65 person and absolutely worth it! What an exciting and enjoyable experience!
