Switch to AT&T. No roaming charges in North America.

I have Sprint and it doesn't do well. No service on the Mexicali to San Felipe side and only in cities on Hwy. 1. Of course no cell for any carrier between El Rosario and near Guerrero Negro.

T-mobile has good coverage from Mexicali to San Felipe, was able to stream internet radio all the way into San Felipe with only one short loss of service. Plan includes unlimited talk, text, and data in US, Mexico, and Canada for $100 a month (that's for two phones)
