Laguna Hanson trip
Its been of the list of places to visit since I first head about it a few years ago. We entered the park from the north after having breakfast at
Cabana de Abuelo in La Rumorosa (thank you Maderita for the tip and the other information). The road was not too bad and it was a pretty cool drive.
The lake itself had water and the area itself was stunning. There were plenty of people camping but we managed to find a spot that was away from the
crowds. We exited from the south towards Ojos Negros which was a shorter dirt road but the washboard was a a bit more exciting. Overall we found the
location a great spot to spend a weekend and would like to spend some more time exploring the area. The plan is to return later in the year once it
cools down a bit.

That looks like an awesome setup. Is it a Defender 110, and another half Defender as a trailer? Tell us more!
It's nice to see some water in the lake. The first time I visited, it had plenty of water. The second time, it was completely dry. I flew over it in
December, and it looked like it was filling up then.

BigBearRider - Its a series IIA 109 built in 1967. The engine and drive train has all bee replaced with "modern" rover parts, 200tdi r380 gearbox
etc. The trailer started life on the back of a beer mat and was built from there. Its been up and down mex 1 few times now and plenty of off rad and
is holding up well. It as a pull out kitchen with a 20 gallon water tank, pull out fridge, and the rooftop tend is raised up to the correct height
using electric activators. Attached are some pics from a San Ignacio / Playa Escondida trip last Feb. I can ramble on for hours about the build.

Funny enough, the area is pretty similar to Big Bear. Getting there involves some mild off-roading. Maybe the Toyota can handle it.

Yup lots of parts available, quality can vary but generally no issues.
